Large White Custom Catio in Ridgefield, WA

This is one of the largest custom catios we’ve ever built in Ridgefield, Washington, designed for a fun, adventurous crew of four cats. We had an amazing time bringing this project to life, from creating a long cat run lookout that wraps around the entire structure to crafting each enrichment feature by hand. Every detail was custom-made to give the cats endless opportunities to climb, lounge, and explore safely. This project challenged us in the best ways, and the result is a spacious outdoor cat enclosure that both the family and their cats absolutely love.

Large Custom Catio in Portland, OR

This large custom catio was built in Portland, Oregon, for a lucky crew of five cats who recently moved here all the way from Hawaii 🌺.

The design features two spacious catios connected by an elevated tunnel, giving the cats safe access to multiple areas to climb, lounge, and explore. Having two distinct spaces not only provides variety and enrichment but also helps when cats don’t always get along perfectly, allowing them to spread out and enjoy their own retreat while still being part of the same outdoor enclosure.

Custom Catio on a deck in Tigard, OR

This custom catio in Tigard, Oregon, was built for two cats and their brother, Beardy the bearded dragon. On this project, we demoed an existing catio and replaced all of the deck boards and stairs before rebuilding the enclosure.

The previous setup didn’t include a proper human door, so we extended the catio area to incorporate the full deck and added a secure, easy-access door for safety and convenience.

What makes this catio special is the level of customization it requires. The family requested that their view remain completely unobstructed from inside the house. To achieve this, we elevated all of the shelves as high as possible and designed a thoughtful climbing layout so the cats could explore freely without blocking the windows. In the far corner, we added a tall scratching post that allows the cats to climb all the way up to the highest perches.

And of course, this wasn’t just for the cats; Beardy the bearded dragon also enjoys the space! 🦎 Surprisingly, he loves climbing the perches just like the cats, which added a fun design challenge for us. The result is a safe, functional, and truly one-of-a-kind catio that works beautifully for both species.

💡 Did you know? Bearded dragons are natural climbers. In the wild, they love perching on rocks and branches to survey their surroundings, so it makes sense that Beardy felt right at home in his custom catio setup.

Designed to match their energy and love of climbing, this custom catio is packed with perches, ramps, hiding boxes, and tall scratchers, giving these big, active cats plenty of room to play, lounge, and enjoy the stunning views of the Columbia River.

One standout feature is the Kitty Condo, an extra lookout area that allows the cats to partially access the first floor and spend more time close to their humans. This elevated design connects different areas of the home while keeping the cats safe, enriched, and entertained.

💡 Did you know? Maine Coons are one of the largest domesticated cat breeds and love vertical spaces, while Savannahs are known for their high energy and powerful jumping skills. A multi-level catio like this is the perfect way to keep them mentally and physically stimulated.
