Large Custom Catio in West Linn, OR
This nearly 200 sq ft custom catio was designed as a shared outdoor living space for an incredible family of 12 rescue cats, two rescue rabbits, and one dog. Built in West Linn, Oregon, the goal was to create a secure, enriching environment where all pets, and their humans, could safely enjoy time together.
The project involved enclosing an under-deck area and extending onto an existing deck, transforming the space into a functional and welcoming multi-species enclosure.
Materials & Construction
Fully cedar framing
Finished with a pet-safe exterior stain
1” x 1” 14-gauge black welded wire mesh
Two human access doors
Shaded polycarbonate roofing
Nearly 200 square feet of enclosed outdoor space
The structure was designed for durability, airflow, and long-term use while blending naturally with the home.
Accessories & Enrichment
This catio was designed to support a large and active group of pets, featuring:
Multiple hiding boxes
A bubble dome bed
A hammock
Bridges and elevated perches
A step ladder and multiple climbing steps
Floor-to-ceiling scratching posts
Exterior-grade ropes and carpets throughout
A dedicated enclosed bunny area was also created, providing a cozy space for hay and resting, while still allowing the rabbits to safely share the environment. A custom pet door installed through the wall allows easy access between the home and the catio.
