Luxury Custom Catio in Ridgefield, Washington, designed and built by The Catio Company. 🐾🤍

Number of Cats: 4 (Sage, Gryff, Max, and Luna)

Features: Honeycomb wall, Lounging net, Climbing walls, and more!

This spacious, luxury custom catio in Ridgefield, Washington was built with premium, pet-safe materials to ensure durability, safety, and style.

The entire structure is made from cedar lumber, a naturally weather-resistant and cat-safe choice, and painted white to match the home’s aesthetics. This finish helps the catio blend beautifully with the house, making it feel like a seamless extension of the home. For added detail and a refined look, trim pieces were incorporated throughout.

The enclosure features heavy-duty 2x2 galvanized wire mesh, providing both strength and long-lasting protection while giving the cats unobstructed views of the outdoors.

A clear polycarbonate roof lets in abundant natural sunlight, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere while still keeping the space dry and protected from the rain.

On the floor, we installed interlocking tiles that offer a soft, paw-friendly surface and are easy to clean and maintain, making them an ideal choice for a multi-cat household. This custom catio is as functional as it is stylish, thoughtfully designed and built to last in the Pacific Northwest climate.

This catio was designed as a spacious outdoor cat enclosure fully packed with enrichment features.

Custom catio accessories like hiding boxes (with peek-a-boo bubble domes) give Sage, Gryff, Max, and Luna cozy spaces while stimulating curiosity and play.

For climbing and exercise, the design includes two suspended cat bridges, a step ladder, scratching steps, and playful zig-zag kitty steps. To meet natural scratching needs, we added scratching posts, scratching ramps, and climbing walls, all wrapped in durable Pro Manila rope, a long-lasting, material ideal for any catio design.

Lounging areas include two curved cat beds, two large cat nets, a cat hammock, and stacked cat boxes, offering plenty of vertical variety. We also built a custom honeycomb kitty wall and a cat tunnel connecting different areas, creating a unique playground where the cats can explore, chase, and enjoy safe outdoor exercise.

Every catio accessory is exterior-grade, weather-resistant, and designed by us at The Catio Company to last in the Pacific Northwest climate. This custom catio is more than just a safe enclosure, it’s a cat adventure park, tailored to support exercise, mental stimulation, and relaxation while giving their family total peace of mind.

What Makes This Catio Special:

We really pushed our creativity to the next level with this project, designing and handcrafting custom accessories to maximize enrichment and fun. The honeycomb wall and stacked boxes act like a playful maze, with multiple entry points and covered fronts that give the cats both a challenge and cozy spaces to lounge. The two large cat nets serve as second levels for running or napping, while the cat tunnel that wraps around the catio creates an adventurous lookout spot with endless opportunities to explore.

This was one of those projects that challenged us in all the best ways, and one that still brings us joy every time we think about it. We first started by enclosing the existing patio and adding the first section of the cat run for Gryff and Max. When Sage joined the family, we built an extension to give them more space and enrichment. Later, Luna came along as the youngest member of the family, and we’ve loved watching her grow up enjoying the catio right alongside her siblings.

For us, the most rewarding part has been watching the family grow and seeing each new cat seamlessly integrated into this space. Every time we drive by or stop in to visit, seeing Gryff, Max, Sage, and Luna enjoying their catio brings the biggest smiles to our faces.

The kind words and compliments we’ve received mean so much to us, and the very best reward is seeing the cats thriving and loving their safe outdoor space.

I worked with Rivers and Dani on two projects: my catio and an extension to it. I challenged them with unique ideas I envisioned, like nets, U-shaped beds, honeycomb shelves, fabric hammocks, and steps with cat faces. They were easy to work with, accommodating even my craziest ideas, and kept me updated throughout the project, so I always felt involved in the process.

The quality of their craftsmanship really stands out—each element feels sturdy and well-built, giving me peace of mind that it’s a safe, durable space for my cats. I highly recommend them for any catio project!
