Rebuilt & Reinforced Screened-In Catio by The Catio Company in Ridgefield, WA

This screened-in patio catio in Ridgefield, Washington was a complete demo and rebuild of an older enclosure. We fully removed the original catio and re-enclosed the patio using stronger, higher-quality materials designed for long-term durability and daily use.

Our goal for this rebuild was to improve airflow, visibility, safety, and functionality while redesigning the layout to create a space that works beautifully for both the homeowners and their cats. The result is a refreshed, secure, and much more comfortable screened-in patio that finally functions the way the family always wanted. ✨

This rebuild was completed using premium materials selected specifically for longevity, safety, and performance:

  • All cedar lumber, naturally rot-resistant and ideal for the PNW

  • Treated with Timber Pro UV Wood Stabilizer, which helps prevent warping, cracking, and moisture absorption

  • Pet-resistant, claw-resistant screening for durability and protection

  • New exterior trim work for a clean, finished look

  • Relocated human door for a more functional layout and easier daily use

Every element was chosen to elevate the strength, safety, and usability of the original patio while maintaining a clean, fresh appearance.

For this screened-in patio catio, we kept the interior open and functional while still giving the cats plenty of enrichment to enjoy every day. The space includes carpeted shelves and ramps, two handmade hiding boxes, a floor-to-ceiling scratching post with a perch on top, and a connecting suspended bridge that links the main perch to another elevated lounging spot. We also added a large step ladder designed specifically to help an older cat reach higher areas comfortably and safely.


This catio was originally built for two cats, but while we were working on the project, our clients adopted a brand-new kitten. She instantly stole everyone’s hearts! They named her Nadia, after the Olympic gymnast, because she’s incredibly agile, active, and loves to jump. 💛


Being part of this moment made the project even more special for us. We also enclosed a second patio on the same property and built our very first doggio for their sweet pup, a milestone we won’t forget! 🐶💕


Working with these clients was truly a joy from start to finish, and we’re so excited for their three kitties to enjoy their new, safe outdoor space.

Rivers and Daniela built both a custom catio and enclosed an existing patio for us. Both are well built, meet all of our needs,


and have all the extras we asked for. Tater, Ichabod and the new kitten we got just before they started love being able to not only get outside and play in the catio but join Ossa and my sister and I on the patio.


Everything was completed in a timely manner and and Rivers and Daniela made the whole process easy and fun.
