Large 10'x12' Custom Catio in King City, Oregon. Built and Designed by The Catio Company.
This large custom catio in King City, Oregon was thoughtfully designed for four lucky cats; Zoe, Calic, Shiloh, and Georgie, to safely enjoy the outdoors year-round.
A through-the-wall pet door was installed to give the cats complete freedom to move between the house and their outdoor cat enclosure whenever they want, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience.
This project was completed within an HOA community, and we worked through the approval process to ensure the catio blended beautifully with the home while meeting all requirements.
Materials:
This custom outdoor cat enclosure was built with durability, safety, and aesthetics in mind:
All cedar lumber, painted to match the home per HOA requirements
Clear polycarbonate roofing panels for weather protection and natural light
Installed beneath an existing awning that can open for full shade in summer
Pet-resistant exterior screen in a soft gray tone to complement the home
Brown gutter system added to match existing trim and improve drainage
Custom human access door
Exterior-grade hardware throughout
Weather-resistant outdoor carpets for climbing and lounging surfaces
This combination creates a long-lasting, low-maintenance catio built for Pacific Northwest weather.
Accessories & Enrichment Features:
This custom catio layout was designed to encourage movement, play, and relaxation while keeping the space visually open.
Features include:
Floor-to-ceiling scratching post for daily exercise
Elevated bridge for movement between zones
Cozy hiding box for security and rest
Multiple lounging perches at varying heights
Unique perch system near the entry door with openings that allow cats to travel vertically and access the floor easily
Large corner perch designed specifically for lounging and sunbathing
The accessory layout creates a vertical playground while maintaining open floor space.

What makes this King City catio truly stand out is the attention to detail and how seamlessly it integrates with the home.
The painted cedar structure, gray pet screen, and brown gutter all work together to match the home’s exterior perfectly, something especially important within an HOA setting.
Positioning the catio beneath an adjustable awning adds another layer of comfort, giving the cats the option of full shade during warmer months while still enjoying the outdoors.
And as always, one of the most rewarding moments of the project was watching the cats explore their new space for the very first time, climbing, lounging, and immediately making it their own.
